Set of sculptures spread by the waterside area of Alcoutim, representing the various scenes of the smugglers’ activities that lived in this region in other times.
Placed hanging over the river, it should have been inhabited during the Iron Age and in the beginning of the roman occupation, accordingly to archaeological digs. Built in the XIV century as a frontier defence, it was altered in the XVII century. Inside is a small museum showing archaeological founds and traces of the constructions found during the digs.
O restaurante A Taberna do Ramos, em Alcoutim, é um espaço simples, que exibe orgulhosamente a sua garrafeira na sala de refeições. As iguarias que saem da cozinha representam os sabores da região. Da carta, constam ainda especialidades como o cabrito assado no forno de lenha, o ensopado de enguias e a açorda de galinha. O pudim de mel encerra a refeição.
