Located on the winding road that connects Beira Grande to Coleja, skirting the relief of the mountains overlooking the Douro, this viewpoint enjoys magnificent views over the vineyards and terraces, Quinta das Vargellas, the riverside villages and the Douro River in all its grandeur.

The municipality of Carrazeda de Ansiães maintains many aspects of cultural and natural interest that continue to justify a visit, but without a doubt the fact that part of its region is classified as a World Heritage Site - the Alto Douro Wine Region, gives special emphasis to these landscapes. The Douro Route, passing by some of the most important monuments in the municipality (Fountain of Sereias, Pillory, Main Church, Selores House, etc.), through breathtaking landscapes, with the support of high quality gastronomy and wines, represents one of the municipality's ex-libris worthing a visit to appreciate these "pure beauties".

Three dolmens with their supports standing upright, supporting the lid. One of them is known as Moura's House and shows three of the pillars painted with stylized representations of human figures and a snake.

Ruins of the walled town remain from the castle of Carrazeda de Ansiães, including the S. Francisco Door, the Fonte Vedra Door, the S. João and the S. Salvador Door, flanked by two towers, and the Keep. Inside the walls there are remains of buildings, including the Romanesque church of S. Salvador.

Romanesque church with a single nave, highlighting the main facade with a truncated gable, portal with archivolts decorated with phytomorphic and geometric motifs and a profusely decorated tympanum. In the nave there is a small museum nucleus where there are fragments of the pillory of Ansiães and sepulchral stelae decorated with solar symbols, Maltese and Templar crosses and Jewish stars.

The Senhora da Ribeira stands out for its privilged location with excellent views of the Douro river. Its service is quite friendly and its cuisine rather good.

19th century religious monument composed of porch and rectangular Chapel. Of small dimensions, this chapel was quite changed, but your porch highlights the importance of this type of construction to passersby who followed northwards. The interior conserves granite flooring and cemented. All around the country there are granite bench seats.

This building has two bodies: nave and main chapel. The church presents a façade with a lintel main door and framed jambs. It stands out the strong fitomorphic application that surrounds it. In the beginning of the century it was inserted a watch. It possesses a bell tower with a clear marking of two registers in which the bell is in the last one. Imposing granite fountain, ornate so unusual. Has foursquare format, is flanked by stairs and has a tank, where water falls of bicas. The sirens that give the name to the source in the center column. The building of the Town Hall is of rectangular plant, composed of two registers and integrates the stone of arms with inscription commemorating its construction.
