Located at an altitude of 488 meters, it has been a place of worship since ancient times. The Chapel of Our Lady of Penha was built out of popular devotion, after an apparition of Our Lady to a shepherdess. Also, noteworthy are the hermitage of Saint Saturnino and the romantic-revivalist mansion from 1918.

The building consists of two sections with sober and well-proportioned lines, already revealing a neoclassical taste. In 1802, the two lateral sections were linked by a large triumphal arch, commemorating the visit of D. João IV. Inside, the highlight is a room with mural paintings, of the Pillement type, and the Convention Room, with maritime and mythological scenes. It was transformed into a hotel, but maintains its original design.

This 19th-century building is topped by bulbous domes and features revivalist, Moorish, and Neo-Gothic motifs decorating the friezes, windows, and entrances. Of particular note are the Neo-Mudéjar interior cladding and the profusion of intricate stucco work. The building is surrounded by elegant romantic gardens.

This building originated from the desire of King Pedro V to transform the Quinta de Queluz into a palace. Construction began in 1747 under the direction of Mateus Vicente de Oliveira and later J. B. Robillon, who gave the palace its exquisite decoration. Inside the palace, the throne room, the music room, and the ambassadors' room are prominent features. Its gardens are adorned with statues, lakes, and fountains. The grand canal has walls covered in tiles.

Quinta da Regaleira

This estate, which belonged to the Barons of Regaleira, was built in the early 20th century. Designed by the Italian architect-set designer Luigi Manini, it was built in the Romantic style. This space is considered one of the most important examples of revivalist architecture in Portugal. The estate presents itself as an impressive combination of styles and constructions (gardens, wells, towers, lakes, statues, caves) where an intimate yet theatrical feeling is maintained.
