Built in 1530, the temple underwent several alterations, mainly during the 18th century. From the original design, it retains the giants that support the main chapel. It features a round-arched portico with cherubs. Inside, one can see the tomb of Jorge Melo, dating from 1540, one of the most sumptuous in Portugal.

The "Lourinhã" DOC Brandy is produced in the only demarcated region for brandy in Portugal: the Demarcated Region of Wine Brandies in Portugal. The recommended grape varieties are Alicante, Alvadurão, Broal Espinho, Marquinhas, Malvásia Rei (Seminário), and Tália, and the red Cabinda. Once the grapes are harvested and crushed, the wines to be distilled are produced in wineries registered with the CVRL (National Council of Rural Development). The maximum alcohol content by natural volume cannot exceed 10%, without the addition of artificial preservatives.
