The Machico Museum Center is a cultural institution created by the Machico City Council, after the restoration of the Solar do Ribeirinho property (built in the 17th century). In this museum you can find, in an interactive way, stories and characters that made up the current City of Machico throughout its almost 600 years of history, distributed across the four thematic areas on display.

Viewpoint offering a wonderful view over the Machico valley, covering the peaks of the central area of the island, Ponta de São Lourenço and also the immensity of the sea, creating a beautiful effect of contrast between the colors of the houses, the colors of nature and the blue tones of the ocean.

This space provides information about the history of whaling, the biological aspects of these animals and the protection actions they are currently targeted. In the Madeira archipelago, 24 species of cetaceans have been confirmed to date, frequently or occasionally.

Beach also known as Porto da Cruz Bathing Complex, with clear waters, black sand and good access to the sea. It has a restaurant area, changing rooms and bathrooms.

Shelter port located in the bay of Machico that allows shelter of small and medium-sized vessels. Next to this, there is an area with various entertainment and leisure infrastructures.

Ancient fortress with a triangular plan, built in the 18th century to defend Machico beach, crossing fire with the fort of São João do Desembarcadouro. It is part of the typology of 17th century Iberian bastioned forts. Currently, a tourist office operates here.

Noble 18th century building that once worked as a county jail and Republican National Guard post, as a telegraph station and as the State Secretariat for Agriculture and Food. Currently, it functions as a museum.

Chapel probably built in the second half of the 17th century, presenting characteristics of Mannerist and Baroque architecture. It consists of three naves with five bays, a main chapel flanked by side chapels, and a bell tower.

Mannerist chapel probably built in 1570. In the 17th century it was covered with tiles and, in the 19th century, the main altar altarpiece was placed. A highlight is the set of 17th-century polychrome pattern tiles that cover the walls.

Space where you can take horse riding lessons or go horse riding. It has an open and covered riding arena, boxes, restaurant and bar.
