For a long time, São Miguel Island was the only place in Europe where tea was manufactured. The Fábrica de Chá Gorreana began planting tea in 1874, but it was only in 1883 that the first tea came off the production line. The retrospective of tea production can be visited daily at the Gorreana farm. Then, among ancient tea production machines, enjoy an aromatic tea. It has a private park.

Opened in 1933, the Ribeiragrandense Theater is the quintessential concert hall in Ribeira Grande. It was built in the first half of the 20th century, then renovated in 1988 and opened in 2000. Currently, various activities take place here, such as conferences, congresses, films, theater shows, festivals, among others.
