Água Formosa is one of the most beautiful villages in the municipality of Vila de Rei, located close to a small valley. The houses and narrow alleys are made of slate slabs. It belongs to the group of famous Schist Villages.

Construction of an irregular square plan with quadrangular and rectangular houses, surrounded by walls. It was built in the Neolithic period, but also presents traces of occupation from the Iron Age and from Celts, Romans and Visigoths.

This location, at around 600 meters above sea level, allows a 360º view over a vast area, including Serra da Lousã and Serra da Estrela. This center, located approximately 2.7 kilometers from Vila de Rei, marks the center of the country. Here you can also find a small museum with an auditorium, bar and souvenir shop.

Road overlooking the Castelo de Bode Reservoir, which connects the riverside villages of Fernandaires and Zaboeira. Along this road you can enjoy some viewpoints with panoramic views of great beauty.

Circular pedestrian route with approximately ten kilometers long, starting and ending in Vila de Rei. It goes through Ribeira do Lavadouro, Ribeira do Vale Feito and Ribeiro da Vila, highlighting the various waterfalls and corners of great natural beauty, present in the surrounding area along the way. You can also observe a great diversity of fauna and flora.
