Place from where you can enjoy a magnificent view over Funchal.

Presents one of the best collections of Flemish religious painting from the 15th and 16th centuries in Portugal, with the São Tiago and São Filipe triptych standing out. The exhibition also features liturgical costumes, jewelry pieces, religious sculptures and Portuguese painting.

This garden is located at about three kilometres from the centre of Funchal. It has about 2000 vegetal species, including plants that exist only in the Madeira island and in other Atlantic islands such as the Azores, the Canaries and Cape Verde. There are about 100 local species, that rang from those that grow on the sunniest hillsides of the island to the typical vegetation. Bullring opened in August 1985, with capacity for 6000 seats. It is used for bullfighting shows, but also for musical concerts and other cultural events.

Along the beach, you can run or ride a bike on special sidewalks appropriate for it.

Surrounded by the Pinhal de Quiaios and green fields, Lagoa da Vela has an elongated shape and runs parallel to the sea, about five kilometers away. It is the largest lagoon in Bom Sucesso, two kilometers long and 300 meters wide. Its depth, about five meters, makes it little vegetated. It has an abundant aquatic fauna and is connected to the Foja river through a stream.

Beach inserted in a picturesque fishing village, much sought after by surfers. Typical restaurant with affordable prices. Praia da Leirosa has an immense expanse of sand and good waves for surfing or other water sports.

It has floating fingers and can welcome up to 200 boats from 6 to 15 metres, and a 120 m long dock, for service and recreational boats. It has a sailing school and small bars and restaurants.
