Tower from the 12th century, located next to the Ucanha fortified bridge. It shows a square plan, homogeneous coverage with a hipped roof and three floors. In the past, it was the entrance to the Salzedas Monastery.

In its time, it was one of the largest Cistercian monasteries in Portugal, the grantee of vast lands around it, with the obligation to cultivate and populate them. Its construction began in 1155, shortly after the donation of the land made to the Order by Egas Moniz, assistant to D. Afonso Henriques, and his wife Teresa Afonso. Chapel of Romanesque and 17th century architecture. It has a structure with a single nave and a narrow chancel. It is located in a place where there are traces of human occupation, presumably from the Castro period. Next to the walls there are tombstones.

This is the first museum nucleus linked to the Douro Museum, intending to collect and disseminate all manifestations of the Douro's traditional imagery, be it intangible heritage (legends, traditions, songbook...), as well as in terms of utopia and the imagination of new generations.

Located on a granite outcrop, in the parish of Pinheiros, the rock engravings of Cabeço das Pombas constitute an artistic-religious manifestation of great importance, with supposed origins in the Bronze Age, although their exact symbolism is unknown. It is believed that they were associated with a ceremonial cult. The figures inscribed on the rock are grouped into sets, engraved at different times, the oldest being the central one.

Romanesque temple built in the 12th century. On the front it has an ornate arch, supported by double columns and capitals. The decoration of the capitals deserves to be highlighted. The main facade is a short distance from the rock mass and was placed in the direction of the slope. Animal designs on the axial portal that signify the guard of the entrance to the temples and their sacred interior.

Building dated from the end of the XVIII century, the former residence of the Carvalhal Counts. The seven wicker balconies in forged iron and the portal sided by two iron lanterns are worthy of notice. It worked as a hotel, a college and international club and is now the property of the City Council and headquarters of Regional Archive of Madeira, the Municipal Library, the Museum and the Municipal aquarium of Funchal.

A small room (part of the Museum of Archeology) where a traditional kitchen of the Algarve is represented. One goes back in time to remember time honoured rustic objects… From the millstone to the pans, copper drippings, cloths and aprons, jars and glass demijohns, among other utensils. Aside from this voyage to the traditional kitchen, there are also temporary exhibitions such as the traditional nativity scene of the mountains and the "Maias".
