Tarouca
The municipality of Tarouca, located in the district of Viseu, captivates visitors through the beauty of its landscapes and natural resources. The Serra de Santa Helena and the great Varosa Valley are a good example of this. But the richness of this municipality extends to other areas, such as its historical, cultural and architectural heritage. The region specializes in the production of the best national sparkling wines, but also white and red table wines. You should also try the delicious local gastronomy, such as hams, Varosa trout and cornbread. Reed covers, "burel" hoods, wool socks, linen cloths and towels are just a few examples of the local crafts that you can still find in the parishes of the municipality, the result of the art of the elderly inhabitants.
