Tabuaço

Considered the capital of Romanesque, the village of Tabuaço and headquarters of the same municipality are inserted in the region of Alto Douro classified as world heritage. With roots in the times of the reconquista and the formation of the nationality, the first signs of settlement in the municipality date back to the time of prehistory, which may testify by numerous traces found throughout the region.
