The Parque das Nações has a 340 ha area and several km by the Tejo estuary. Here stand out the Oceanário (oceanarium), the Pavilhão da Realidade Virtual (virtual reality pavilion), the Pavilhão Atlântico (Atlantic pavilion), the Torre Vasco da Gama (tower) and the Estação do Oriente (railway station). The open air areas and the beautiful gardens, namely, the Jardim das Ondas (waves garden) and the Jardim da Água (water garden) invite you to take long walks.

Dating back to the late neolithic, the villag has several archaeological vestiges of different cultures and civilizations, namely the menhirs, the biggest of which (four metres) is classed as a national monument. There is also the castro (a celtic village) of Carapito. The pillory (16th century, just after the charter) and the mother church also stand out. The parish of Gondar is crossed by two rivers that flow to the Tâmega river: Fornelo and Ovelha.
