Castle built by King Dinis in the 14th century, possibly on previous fortification. It has an oval fence with six turrets, two towers and two gates. Currently, retains primitive walls parts, the doors of Ravessa and of Relógio, and remains of the city hall, with ogival slots. The Bell Tower was built in the reign of King João II and was the residence of the Earls Borba-Redondo.

Characterized by a strong rural component, this set was once the center of a recreational area on the outskirts of the city, consisting of several farms, mostly missing. The highlight is a small house on top of Pombal square, the building of the home-school "Viscountess of olive groves", more noble characteristics and the Church of Santa Maria with 17th century and deeply changed initial moth after the earthquake.

The defensive system that once enveloped the entire city of Silves was quite complete and sophisticated. You may also visit the chapel and a turret which offers a beautiful panoramic view over the city.
