The Casa Museu Pintor José Cercas is located in the historical centre of Alzejur. The painter donated his house and artistic spoil to the city hall on the condition that the municipality would create a museum-house with his name and where his artistic legacy would be on permanent exhibit. Besides José Cercas’ paintings and drawings, the visitor can also see glazed pottery, sculptures, religious art and valuable furniture from several periods. There is a small garden on the property where visitors can enjoy a beautiful panoramic view.

Strong pentagonal plant, once intended for the defense of the city of Horta and its port of pirates attacks. Have been named, initially, of Forte de Santo António and was built in the second half of the 16th century. The original defensive system only the outer walls.
