Castelo de Penela

Castle overlooking the town, where the Church of São Miguel, dating from the 15th century, and a set of anthropomorphic graves from the late Middle Ages stand out. It has a polygonal, irregular shape and is made up of walls and several towers from the 15th and 16th centuries. It preserves the Vila Door and the Betrayal Door, the latter with Moorish influences. This is the second-largest castle on the Mondego defensive line.

Castro dating back to the Bronze age, more exactly from the 7th century BC. This is located in a hilly elevation, on top of which stands a chapel of Oracle to Nossa Senhora da Guia. At the same site were also found archaeological remains denoting the existence of a fortified village. Of the latter, very little can be seen because it was grounded in 1995, during the construction of an access road.
Arco e Torre de Almedina

The Almedina Arch was part of the medieval walls, dating back to the 11th century, as indicated by the Arabic-origin toponym meaning "the city". Today it is the entrance to old Coimbra, where one can see a sculpture from the workshop of João de Ruão. The wall has Roman origins, having been expanded several times. It presents characteristics of Roman, Muslim, Romanesque, Gothic and Manueline architecture.

House plant irregular rectangular housing with two floors, surrounded by extensive fenced land with a fence, integrated within the limits of the farmhouse of tiles. The access is made from the inside, since the outward facade has no doors. The main building dating from the 19th century, and there is, however, another body built later, probably in the 20th century. On the façades, there are a few sets of tiles of Art Nouveau features.

Small chapel from the 17th century, located at the top of Monte Crasto, a kind of natural fortress, with 194 meters of altitude and a beautiful panoramic view over Gondomar, Gaia and Porto. In front of the chapel, we can see side crosses dating from 1757 and a central one from 1759. Throughout the park, there are caves, picnic areas and romantic flowerbeds that invite you to visit.
Antigo Convento da Ordem de Avis

The church was founded on an uncertain date, but it is known that it was rebuilt in the mid-17th century. Its appearance maintains its medieval design. The church has a simple portico, crowned by a pediment bearing the national coat of arms. The Renaissance-style chancel was built in 1694, with the rest of the church being Baroque. The convent houses the famous silver-inlaid reliquary of Saints Peter and Paul, a work of 15th-century goldsmithing.

Museum space founded in 1937, located in Solar dos Carneiros, the only coat of arms in the municipality of Póvoa de Varzim and dating from the 18th century. It is classified as a Property of Public Interest. It is one of the oldest ethnographic museums in Portugal, highlighting the exhibition "Siglas Poveiras", the sacred art collection of the primitive mother church (16th century) and the collection of archaeological pieces (such as the Roman inscriptions from Beiriz).

The Islamic Art Center opened in 2001 and represents the culmination of many years of work not only in archaeological interventions but also in the treatment and study of materials from the Islamic period. The collection, dating from the 9th to 13th centuries, comprises architectural elements, funerary epigraphy, ceramics, metals (copper and copper alloys, iron, and lead), worked bone (including artifacts directly related to weaving and glass objects).
