This bronze bust intends to pay homage to Fernando da Silva Laires, a big booster of the Caldas da Cavaca.

The construction of the primitive church was initiated at th end of the 17th century. Considred insufficient for all the faithful that came by, it was enlarged from the middle of the 18th century until the first decades of the 19th century, at which time the façade was finished. The monument is represented by the armillary sphere on top and a stone basis with commemorative inscriptions. It is placed near the city centre, in a square also called “the aviators”.

Botica's House is, at the same time, House of culture and the municipal library of Póvoa de Lanhoso. Is one of the oldest in the County, built in 1676 and retired in 1862, before the urbanization plan of the village. In relation to the origin of the name Casa da Botica, Pelican, placed on the façade of the building, gives some lights on designation. It is known that the Pelican now is regarded as religious symbol and as a Christian symbol.
