Located within the National Ecological Reserve, the Pataias Lagoon is the main wetland in the municipality, and one of the main migratory points for aquatic birds. There, it is possible to observe these species through the observatory, and also discover a variety of fish. On the shore, there is a picnic area where you can enjoy a picnic in contact with nature.

The Alcobaça Green Park is located at the eastern entrance to the city, preserving the old waterways leading to the Alcobaça Monastery. Covering an area of ​​over six hectares, it is a recreational space suitable for exercise, outdoor activities, and events.

From this elevation, it is possible to see the entire bay of São Martinho do Porto, a geographical feature that, due to its perfect shell shape, is unique in the country and in Europe. It has three kilometers of sand and a 250-meter-wide inlet, between the Santana hills to the south and the Farol hill to the north.

It is the preferred green space for the inhabitants of Santarém and the most beautiful viewpoint in the city, offering superb views over the Tagus River and the vast, expansive floodplain. It also houses the Urbi Scallabis - Interpretation Centre, a space where archaeological finds from the old Alcáçova (citadel) can be found.
