Cabeceiras de Basto
Cabeceiras de Basto is one of the oldest and most historic municipalities in Minho, located between the Cabreira and Marão mountain ranges. The territory is fertile and abundant in water, benefiting from the proximity of the Bessa and Tâmega rivers. Agriculture and livestock farming are naturally the predominant economic activities. Throughout the region there are old manor houses, many converted into rural tourism accommodations, a legacy of a people always connected to the land and traditional knowledge. A hearty meal is highly appreciated in Cabeceiras, so there is no shortage of restaurants where you can enjoy the delights of regional cuisine, especially veal and sausages, accompanied by the refreshing Vinho Verde from Minho. For dessert, try the typical honey cake.
