Oliveira de Frades
Oliveira de Frades is one of the municipalities part of the Lafões sub-region, together with Vouzela and São Pedro do Sul, being geographically delimited by the Caramulo, Talhadas, Ladário and Gralheiro mountains, and the Vouga and Alfusqueiro rivers. The municipality's landscapes alternate between the various shades of green of the mountains and natural viewpoints and the valleys carved by the waters of rivers and streams, between rustic granite villages where time doesn't go by. Thanks to the persistence of the artisans, it is still possible to admire works of tinwork, stonework, sieves, and other manual labor artifacts that have fallen into disuse. The gastronomy still keeps the region's tradition alive, in dishes such as “Vitela à Lafões”, cabidela rice, "rojões" or sausages.
