Castelo de Palmela

The fortress stands by the counterfort of the Arrábida Mountain, and it has wide views from Sines to Sintra. Its most interesting features are the entrance, the 17th century's walls, the convent of the Santiago Order (mostly the cloyster and the dining room), the church of Santiago, of the 15th century, the Palaces of Dom Jorge, the turrets, the donjon of the 14th century, the ruins of the church of Saint Mary and several portals.
