Tábua

Framed by the Serra da Estrela, Lousã, Buçaco and Caramulo mountain ranges, the municipality of Tábua is composed of small hills, valleys, rivers and streams that cross it. Its landscape is characterized by the existence of typical granite villages, many manor houses and palaces, and agricultural areas. In terms of heritage, archaeological remains are noted that attest to the remote occupation of the municipality. There are many listed churches and pillories, scattered throughout all the parishes, not forgetting the river beaches and the mineral-medicinal waters of São Geraldo and Várzea Negra. In gastronomy, it is imperative to mention the Serra cheese, produced in Midões, the "torresmos", the "tiborna" and the "bucho", always accompanied by Dão wines. Handicrafts include pottery, musical instruments and basketry.
