Tábua

Framed by the Estrela, Lousã, Buçaco, and Caramulo mountain ranges, the municipality of Tábua includes small hills, valleys, rivers, and streams that run through it. Its landscape is characterized by typical granite villages, numerous manor houses and mansions, and agricultural areas. Archaeological remains attest to the municipality's early occupation. Churches and listed pillories abound, scattered throughout the parishes, not to mention the river beaches and the medicinal mineral waters of São Geraldo and Várzea Negra. In terms of gastronomy, mention must be made of the Serra cheese, produced in Midões, as well as the "torresmos", "tiborna", and "bucho", always accompanied by Dão wines. Crafts include pottery, musical instruments, and basketry.
