Vouzela
Vouzela lies on the mountainous region has a privileged location: despite being a county from the interior is only 50 km from the coast. Of very ancient origin, the municipality of Vouzela has a rich archaeological heritage which stand out the Dolmen of Mottled of the Cambarinho, Medieval Tower de Cambra, Medieval Tower of Vilharigues, Medieval Tower of Alcofra, Dolmen da Lapa of Castle Rock Graves, Meruge, Rock Grave of São Domingos, Bridge Pebble, Roman road and Castro do Cabeço do Couço. A stroll through the town, be sure to meet the railway bridge, the Igreja Matriz de Vouzela (monument of Romanesque style of the 13th century), the pillory of Vouzela, Casa dos Távoras and the Prazias House. The natural heritage deserve also attention for the beauty and diversity of fauna and flora: Botanical reserve of Cambarinho, kills the Penoita and Mata da Nossa Senhora do Castelo. The ex-libris of gastronomy is undoubtedly the veal from Lafões. The dry soup, fireworks of pig, the roast lamb in the oven, or cooked corn porridge are another typical gastronomic proposals of the municipality. In the confectionary the highlight goes to the famous pastéis de Vouzela and the traditional desserts of fair: the quiet ones, the cakes, the yolk cavacas, the kisses and the birds. Parts in linen, wool and wicker characterize the craft of Vouzela.
