Vouzela

Vouzela is located in the Lafões Region and boasts a privileged location: despite being an inland municipality, it is only 50 km from the coast. Of ancient origin, it boasts a rich archaeological heritage, including some cave tombs and medieval towers. The natural heritage also deserves attention for its beauty and diversity of fauna and flora: the Cambarinho Botanical Reserve, the Penoita Forest, and the Nossa Senhora do Castelo Forest. The culinary landmark is undoubtedly Lafões veal. "Sopa seca", "rojões", oven-roasted goat, "cozido", and "papas de milho" are other culinary options. Among the desserts, the highlights are Vouzela pastries and traditional fair sweets: "caladinhos", yolk cakes, "cavacas", "beijinhos", and "passarinhas".
