Pay attention to the details of the tabernacle, surrounded by angels and flanked by two quadrangular niches with sculptures representing the Adoration of the Magi and the scene of the Last Judgment. Located on a hill, this oval castle retains the curtain wall of the bastion of the angel São Miguel. It was built in 1320, by order of King Dinis, to defend the newly created village of Cerveira. Several monuments stand out from the intramural set, namely the pillory, the church and the chapel. The fortifications built in the 17th century were destroyed with urban growth. Small fort, pentagonal in plan and composed of five irregular bastions. It has no foundations, resting directly on the natural soil. Its construction began in 1642 and 1663, during the Restoration Wars, and was then restored in 1797. In 1809, it was destroyed by General Soult's troops, and is currently in ruins. This fort is located very close to the Lovelhe archaeological site.
