Located within the protected area of ​​the Arouca Geopark, the Vau river beach is one of the most appealing areas to enjoy the beauty of the Paiva River. It's a paradisiacal spot ideal for water sports and adventure activities.

This heritage site is believed to be unique in the country, due to the way the 17 windmills are arranged in a row. Located in the parish of Alvarenga, the windmills, built of schist and covered with slate, are beautiful examples of the region's traditional architecture.

Chapel built in 1612, very rich in its iconographic program, where Evangelists, Apostles, scenes of the Nativity, Life and Passion of Christ, among others, are represented. The interior consists of a very simple altar and the nave is entirely covered with tiles dating from the 17th century. Classified as a Property of Public Interest since 1959.

Also called the Medieval Tower, Moorish Tower, or Lourosa de Campos Tower. A stately tower with Gothic elements and defensive military characteristics. It is a unique building in the municipality and is in a good state of preservation.

Built in the 17th century, this church belongs to the Mannerist style and displays the most naive elements of vernacular architecture. It has a Romanesque-style granite bell tower that rises in front of the main door.

An annex to the monastery, with a varied collection consisting mostly of works of art that belonged to the Cistercian community of the monastery. Here you can appreciate collections of painting, sculpture, tapestry, goldsmithing, furniture, earthenware and others distributed throughout various rooms.

This space showcases fossils of Middle Ordovician invertebrates, which are 465 million years old and considered rarities worldwide. It brings together a multifaceted collection of fossils recovered over two decades of industrial work in the slate quarries.

A unique phenomenon in Portugal and very rare worldwide, it consists of stones growing and detaching from their "mother stone," hence their popular name "birthing stones." To better understand these enigmatic rocks and the dynamics of the Arouca Geopark, it is worth visiting the Casa das Pedras Parideiras – Interpretation Centre.

The Arouca Geopark encompasses the administrative area of ​​the Municipality of Arouca, which has distinguished itself through its exceptional geological heritage of international relevance, recognized by the UNESCO European and Global Geoparks Network since 2009. The valuable and unique inventoried geological heritage covers a total of 41 geosites, with particular emphasis on the famous "Birthing Stones" of Aldeia da Castanheira (Serra da Freita) and the Giant Trilobites of Canelas.

A supervised beach on the Paiva River, with parking for 30 vehicles, quite popular on warmer days due to its clear waters and leafy shade. It has a bar, toilets, showers, barbecues, a recycling point, and a volleyball court. It is also the starting point for some sporting activities on the Paiva River, namely rafting. Camping is possible.
