On select days, it's possible to climb to the Lidador Tower viewpoint, where the City Hall services are located, and enjoy a privileged view of Maia and the entire Porto Metropolitan Area. Inaugurated in 2001 and standing 92 meters tall, this is the 5th tallest building in the country and the tallest outside Lisbon. Visible from any of its 10 parishes, the Tower is a landmark of the municipality and its most recognized brand image. Participation in the guided tour is free, but prior registration is mandatory.

The construction of this convent started in the 15th century and was founded by Dona Francisca de Azambuja, a descendant of one of the most ilustrious families in Barreiro. Its architecture is simple and austere. It went through several works, namely at the beginning of the 18th century. When the religious orders were extinguished it became a farm for the summer vacations. In 1995, the building, that belonged to the town hall, as recovered and restored. It currently has an auditorium, a section of the municipal library, a bar and a centre of temporary exhibitions.

Space Museum opened in 2002, with three storeys and four exhibition halls, where displays the earliest artistic traditions and Portuguese bread. The space is divided in Bread cycle Room, Room of political, Social and religious Bread, Bread art Room and Pedagogical Room. There is also a restaurant where the King is, as expected, the bread.
