Espinho

Located on the Atlantic coast, Espinho is situated at one end of the Aveiro district. The origin of the settlement dates back to the 18th century, when fishermen from Furadouro settled here, attracted by the abundance of fish. Fishing, although still present, gradually lost importance to the textile and chemical sectors. In the 19th century, Espinho became one of the country's main tourist destinations, thanks to the benefits of its proximity to the sea. The casino is a meeting point for people from all over the country.
