Projected and built as a artistic creation place and a vehicle to its divulgation, it increased, during its 30 years of existence, both the dialogue between different artists’ generations and the confront between schools and tendencies. Above all, it enabled the frequent and natural intimacy between the artist and the public, the artist and the city.

In this archive there are about 357 thousand documents, including church registries, court registries, notarial registries, civilian registries and documents of the religious congregations extinct in 1911… There is also a collection of Music and Liturgy and another of Parchments as well as a deposit where the documents that have no moree place in the installations of the archive are kept.
