Located three kilometers from the city center, this palace is situated within a large estate. Santa Susana is a typical village of the Alentejo region, with ground floor small houses, painted in white with a blue bar and big chimneys. Built over a century ago, they lodged farm workers temporarily and they eventually stayed in the place. Nowadays, it is a peaceful village of the Alentejo where one can savour the local gastronomy and become acquainted with the region's craftswork.

In this avenue, placed in the heart of Lisbon, the international trade marks have a privileged position. Here you will mostly find clothing and accessories stores, shoes stores and perfume stores. After going around the commercial establishments take a break and have a drink in one of the avenue esplanades or, if you prefer, enjoy the green spaces you have around.

This is a fairly easy walking route. The route covers sites associated with the Battle of Buçaco, which pitted the army commanded by Marshal Massena against the Portuguese-British forces commanded by Wellington. The salt garden, inaugurated in 1996, is located at the northern entrance of the city, near the Maya water Square (roundabout of salt). Across the wooden bridge which provides the connection to the Monte Formoso, it is possible to enjoy the Riverside vegetation, still with ease a few species of birds, such as chickadees. The garden is a sunny place, which gives children a space of relaxation and conviviality.
