Statue built to pay homage to the poet and pedagogue João de Deus (1830-1896). It is sited in a place called the “poets’ retreat” where also are several statues and effigies of famous poets that have been in the students’ city.

Located at the Praça dos Restauradores, it was built in 1886, pay homage to those who died during the Restauração War. The Bronze figures on the pedestal symbolize the victory and the liberty. The names and dates on the lateral part of the obelisk refer to the battles.

This church was rebuilt in 1769 by orders of the command of the Infantry Regiment of Lagos, in order to become a chapel for them. The riches and profusion of the golden carvings on the high altar and the side walls, make this church one of the main examples of the Portuguese baroque. The wooden ceiling imitates a barrel-vault with a perspective painting. On the side walls one can admire 8 paintings that allude to Saint Anthony's miracles. The patron saint stands on the altar.
