In medieval times it was here built the building of the Town Hall, after being rebuilt in 1876. Consists of a longitudinal plan organized in function of a corridor that traverses the entire building. Initially, it worked here too the jail and the Court but currently works only the Town Hall.

Here we find vestiges of prehistory, the Celts, Roman Classicism, the Suevi, the Visigoths, the Arabs, the Portuguese Middle Ages, and buildings from the Manueline period. The Egitaniense Epigraphic Museum is housed in the town's cathedral, originally built on an early Christian temple and the first Visigothic cathedral built in the Iberian Peninsula. To get here, you can come from Setúbal by boat, or by road via Alcácer, Grândola, or Santiago do Cacém. The ruins comprise a residential area, a bathhouse, swimming pools, a religious center, four burial areas, and industrial areas. Mosaics and stucco with fresco painting are still visible. Occupation extended from the 1st to the 5th/6th centuries. Besides the fish salting workshops, the most characteristic element, there are uncovered thermal baths, a residential area known as Rua da Princesa, a mausoleum, necropolises with different types of tombs, and an early Christian basilica with frescoed walls, which can only be visited …

Mikdad da Costa Victorino is an Impressionist painter, pupil of Columbano Bordalo Pinheiro, whose works are in several national museums. He died at his home, the March 23, 1969, having the building entered into degradation, being recently reclaimed by the Town Hall of Sertã, which turned him into a cultural space.

16th century Church consists of nave, chancel, baptistery, sacristy, belfry and sanitary facilities. The façade is painted white and features, above the door, a stained-glass window and an oculus, for where to enter part of the light. Inside, one of the highlights go to the font of the late 16th century and the main altarpiece of the neoclassical style.
