The lintel of the door contains inscriptions: "MARIA IOSEPH IESVS\/SAVE TIESVM LENEDITVM\/REGINAE ERVCTVM ... NOBIS POIoICEXI IVMOS ENDE ". This castle underwent profound reconstructions and changes throughout the centuries, notably in the 17th and 19th centuries. A Romanesque temple founded by the Canons Regular of Saint Augustine, it is the only example of a monastic church in the present-day municipality of Cinfães. The façade features a portal with three archivolts and capitals decorated with zoomorphic motifs and a decorated tympanum. On the south façade, there are two portals with Romanesque motifs.
