Livraria Lello

Built in a neo-Gothic style, Livraria Lello has a magnificent façade, formed by a large, collapsed arch whose entrance is divided into a central door, flanked by two windows. On this arch there is a triple window. On the two sides of the window are two painted figures, by José Bielman, symbolizing Art and Science. It is noteworthy the lace present on the top of the building. At the entrance, in the centre of the vast room, an ornamental staircase gives access to a higher plane, where some tables serve as a support for the exhibition of books. The wooden, leather-lined benches and the shelves that cover the walls make the store's main space.
