The construction of this Italian style garden was ordered by the Marquês de Pombal, in 1728. It is a space filled with tropical trees, offering peace and quiet. It has a huge, imposing terrace filling the inferior part of the garden.

Also known as Mirante Emydgio da Silva (or Emídio da Silva), who was responsible for the idea of building this place, it was designed by the Italian Nicolau Bigaglia, having been built in the 20th century. It was opened in 1908 and the stone columns were brought from the Lorvão Monastery. This viewpoint provides a beautiful view over the Buçaco mountains, the Mondego River and the village of Penacova.

The walls and towers remain from the 17th century fortifications to this day. The consistent medieval wall is made of marble and granite and is torn by several doors. It has a triangular plan with square towers. Inside the walls, the Casa da Guarda and the old Town Hall stand out. The military complex retains, despite being quite damaged, a unique and picturesque appearance.

A short distance from the village of Penas Roias are the remains of this castle with a quadrangular structure. All that remains of the castle is the keep, the remains of a circular cube and some sections of the wall. This castle provided the first line of defense in the northeast of Trás-os-Montes, together with the castles of Algoso, Miranda do Douro, Outeiro, Vimioso and Mogadouro, with which it formed a strong defensive group.

It is a large fortified town dating from the iron age\/Roman times with occupation in the middle ages. The houses feature a round plant, some with separate foyer and lajeadas streets. There are five lines of ramparts, reinforced by the rising side by turrets arranged in accordance with the terrain or accidents where the need for defence to that required. It is also known as Monte do Castelo de Neiva.

Seventeenth-century chapel which originally belonged to a group of buildings of the Oratory of Saint Catherine, designed by Fr. Andrew of San Bernardino. The façade has straighter Dick portal surmounted by high window of appliance rusticated and finished in triangular pediment and a small bell. Inside, the gilded altars, a pulpit from the 17th century, and a few pieces of eighteenth-century imaginary.
