Beautiful place to enjoy and take pictures of the Atlantic Ocean. A calm and relaxing corner, perfect for a romantic walk.

Located between the village of Maceira and Praia do Porto Novo, the spa of Fonte dos Frades is part of the spa resort of Vimeiro, in a scenic setting surrounded by magnificent gardens, in the valley of the Alcabrichel River. The water from this source is sodium-magnesian chlorinated, with a total mineralization of 3,200 mg/liter.

Park with century-old trees, plane trees and swings. Inside, there is a bandstand and a kennel. Nice place for picnics or just for a walk.

A belvedere by the famous waterfalls that are over 60 metres high, with views of the surrounding hills.

The garden belongs to a 19th century farm, where the nobility used to gather, the royal family included. The set includes the building, the grotto, the tank, the pigeon houses and the garden that stands out for its busts and for the tiles.

A garden built in 1871, with shades of centenary trees, that offer pleasant leisure moments. In the centre, there is a statue of the writer Camilo Castelo Branco and, at the bottom, a fountain. This space has a fantastic view of a part of the city.

Created in the 60s, it has about 38 thousand square metres. Totally surrounded by a wall, it is limited by houses, by the river, by the school and by the Park's dependencies. It belongs to the Direcção Regional de Agricultura de Trás-os-Montes (Trás-os-Montes Regional Direction of Agriculture). It is an excellent place to visit with family and friends. There are spaces where one can jog, play, picnic, enjoy the shade of wonderful trees, fish and even dive in the river.

It had profound refurbishment works under the Polis programme, and it is located right in front of Jardim do Paço and is another popular leisure spot. As part of this rworks, the space, which was once a farm with gardens, has given place to a very pleasant park with a large green area and in which water takes on a prominent place. However, some elements have been preserved, such as the pergola, a mass of cedars, the Mata dos Loureiros or the Porta de Roma.

Classified as a national monument, it is one of the ex-libris of the city and one of the most original examples of the Baroque style in Portugal, having been built at the behest of D. João de Mendonça, Bishop of Guarda, around 1720. It features five lakes on the main slope, where the water features stand out, while the intermediate one has the Lago das Coroas and the Stairs of the Apostles and Kings, where all the Portuguese monarchs are represented. On the upper deck is the Staircase of Moses.

The views it offers over the historic area of Castelo Branco and the region greatly reward the effort required to reach it. It is located close to the Castle and opened in 1941, built to “hide” the water supply tanks and later reclassified during the Polis program. The garden benches and shadows invite you to take a well-deserved rest, while contemplating the panoramic view that goes from Serra da Estrela to the border.
