Torres Vedras is located just 50 kilometers from the capital city, bordering Lourinhã, Alenquer, Mafra and Sobral de Monte Agraço. To the west, it meets the vast Atlantic Ocean, offering magnificent beaches of fine sand. One of the best known festivals in the county is its carnival, known as the most Portuguese carnival in Portugal. On this date, thousands of people head to Torres Vedras to have fun with the show of the floats, the "matrafonas" , the "big heads" and the "Zés Pereiras". In terms of gastronomy, the municipality is known for its rice, "sarrabulho", Ramalhadense beans and meat in lard. As for desserts, try the Torres Vedras "sopapao", the "doce de garfo", the bean pastries, the horseshoe cake and the regional cake from Maceiras.

Praia de Santa Rita - Norte

Beach located in a small valley, with an extensive beach. Sought after by surfers, this space also allows the practice of paragliding and kite flying for the youngest, from the great cliffs. In the area there are several restaurants/bars with pleasant terraces.

Praia de Porto Novo

Praia de Porto Novo is small and protected by the northern slope. Here flows a small river and there is a harbor for small-scale fishing boats. The existing typical restaurants offer a wide variety of dishes, especially the ones typical of the region, with special emphasis on seafood.
