Planed by the architect Álvaro Siza Vieira to the Expo 98, the building is inspired in the Portuguese architecture typologies. It was one of the most visited pavilions at the expo and is now one of the ex-libris of the Parque das Nações and the place of international political meetings. The impressive “concrete sheet” suspended at the exterior gives the construction a singular touch of modernity.

Mannerist source of backrest, probably built by military engineers and therefore of great stylistic sobriety and simplicity. The 18th and 19th century documentation does not state the source with the designation by which it is now known, or referred to on this site. Thus, it is likely that is located elsewhere and has been transferred to the current location during during the 20th century.

The House integrates a set of buildings typical of the region, associated to the flour mills powered by the force of water from the river. Rebuilt in 2003, the Centennial House maintains the same traces of the old House. The garden in front of the House, from the living room, is par excellence a privileged balcony, overlooking the river Alva. The surrounding the beach is characterized by a vast forest cover, which makes it pleasant walks, bike or off-road motorcycle.

An archaeology museum displaying valuable artifacts unearthed from various archaeological sites in the municipality, documenting a broad chronological period from prehistory to Romanization. It features a room dedicated to prehistory and others dedicated to the Castro culture. The museum also houses a wealth of archaeological material for interested researchers to study. It also houses an ethnographic collection covering fishing, agriculture, linen processing, and regional clothing, as well as a valuable collection of sacred art.
