Leisure space where environmental education actions are carried out and whose main objective is to preserve the natural heritage. In this place, more than 30 species of birds have already been observed, and the existing flora is quite varied, highlighting the indigenous plants. It has five support houses, two of which welcome volunteers from the park's activities.

This garden is located at about three kilometres from the centre of Funchal. It has about 2000 vegetal species, including plants that exist only in the Madeira island and in other Atlantic islands such as the Azores, the Canaries and Cape Verde. There are about 100 local species, that rang from those that grow on the sunniest hillsides of the island to the typical vegetation. One may find plants as diverse as plants from the Hymalaians and tropical plants. One will find tropical and subtropical fruit trees, such as mangoes, avocados, coffee, sugar cane and more, as well as cooking …

Surrounded by the Pinhal de Quiaios and green fields, Lagoa da Vela has an elongated shape and runs parallel to the sea, about five kilometers away. It is the largest lagoon in Bom Sucesso, two kilometers long and 300 meters wide. Its depth, about five meters, makes it little vegetated. It has an abundant aquatic fauna and is connected to the Foja river through a stream.

Located on the foothils of Barroso Mountain, Vilarinho Seco is one of the most well preserved and characteristic villages in the region. The granite espigueiros (small cereal warehouses), the houses with culm rooftops and some of the inhabitants in traditional clothes create an interesting traditional atmosphere. In the centre, there are a square with the tank, the crucifix and the chapel, an impressive example of the popular architcture. It has a communal oven.
