Marina da Horta

A reference point on the "island itinerary", Marina da Horta is the most important in the Azores and the fourth most visited marina in the world. Protected to the south by Monte de Guia and to the north by Ponta da Espalamanca, it is in a privileged location against the winds and is an almost obligatory passage for vessels traveling from the Caribbean to the Mediterranean, in the middle of the North Atlantic. A highlight is the colorful paintings that visitors leave on the marina's wall, which turn it into a huge open-air painting gallery. The friendly welcome to these sea adventurers is then continued by Peter Café Sport and its famous gin.
