Leitão Assado à Bairrada

Bairrada-style suckling pig is undoubtedly the greatest culinary reference in this Bairrada region, in the Beira Litoral region. Pig farming has been a common practice since the 17th century. The suckling pig is spit-roasted for two hours in a wood-fired oven. Yellow as gold, it's a dish much loved by both locals and visitors who regularly stop by to savor the meat's unique flavor.
