Passeio das Virtudes

In this gardened place you have privileged view over the Pavilhão Rosa Mota, The Douro River, Miragaia (district) and the neighbour city Vila Nova de Gaia. Based upon a granite support, built in 1787, it was once called the “Jazigo dos Judeus” (Jews cemetery). After the Jews expulsion from Portugal, in 1496, it was rearranged and became a leisure area.
