Reserva Natural do Sítio da Rocha do Navio

Integral natural reserve of the Natural Park of Madeira, with a total area of 1710 hectares and a total length of 6259 meters. Is exclusively marine, which also covers the seabed until 100 meters and the islanders from the rock of the vines and the widow, or Rocha do Navio. This protected area was created in 1997 by the will of the local population, in order to protect fisheries and marine resources against overfishing, often using explosives. Their natural wealth, cultural and scientific, botanical heritage, with several species of endemic flora on the cliffs, among other protected natural habitats and rare species threatened with extinction. Access to the waterfront can be done by cable car.
