Sines

Sines is located on the southwest coast of Alentejo, and the southern part of the municipality is part of the Southwest Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Natural Park, which stretches from São Torpes to the Algarve. A stroll through the historic center, which stretches along the cliffs from the castle to the city's Revelim Fort, is a must. Walking along the waterfront, you'll discover countless beaches, characterized by their diversity and beauty. The cuisine is characterized by fish dishes, with highlights including grilled fish, seafood "açorda", and Bean stew with whelks. Sweeten your meal with a "Vasquinho," a small almond-based cake. Sines hosts the World Music Festival, which annually brings renowned artists to the city and thousands of people who don't want to miss the country's most famous world music event.
