The Salpoente restaurant was reborn in February 2013 and, today, it is strongly recommended. Is already a bet wins and goals defined by the new leadership are ambitious: "we want to be the best cod restaurant in Portugal". The kitchen leads the young chef Duarte Eira which, in 2011, was the big winner of the contest "“Revolta do Bacalhau”.

O nome não engana, aqui, a especialidade são os pratos confecionados com o fiel amigo, o bacalhau.

The Neighborhood is the latest city of Aveiro space dedicated to the retro spirit. Markedly traditional, but with a dash of modernity, in the Neighborhood the Chef Tiago Santos reinvents some of the most typical dishes in a fusion of traditional and contemporary cuisine.

The typical brick walls decorated with azulejo panels and typical utensils are a unique and traditional décor. The dishes are inspired at the regional cuisine and the fish rules: polvo à lagareiro (roast octopus) and tibornada de bacalhau (dried codfish).

At this restaurant the speciality is the fresh fish. The meal begins with escabeche eels (vinegar sauce) or mussels espetadinha (roasted on a spit) and continues with a mixed of grilled fish or frog-fish rice. To the meat appreciators there are also good proposals.
