Chamusca

Charming Ribatejo village located in the heart of the Tagus river marshland. Its population of around 11 thousand inhabitants is concentrated in seven parishes and lives mainly from agriculture and services. The majority of the landscape is occupied by extensive fertile land, but also by some forest (Charneca area). With a great bullfighting tradition, the Bullfighting Festival is one of the main events of its kind. But the main festival is Ascension Week, where you can enjoy some of the region's typical delicacies: "trouxas-de-ovos", "lampreia de ovos", "ferraduras" and "peixe doce".
