For a long time, São Miguel Island was the only place in Europe where tea was manufactured. The Fábrica de Chá Gorreana began planting tea in 1874, but it was only in 1883 that the first tea came off the production line. The retrospective of tea production can be visited daily at the Gorreana farm. Then, among ancient tea production machines, enjoy an aromatic tea. It has a private park.

It is, perhaps, the most representative store of crafts in the region and also works as a Tourist Office. Here you can find wooden Christs, regional dolls, embroidery, cheese, honey, carving and restoration work, ceramics, among other relics.

Center for supporting local arts and promoting temporary exhibitions, opened in 1996. Highlights include works in ceramics, wood, cork, basketry, weaving, wrought iron and leather.

Stuffed with chila pumpkin jam and sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon, this conventual sweet originates from Fão. This dessert, known since the end of the 19th century, is the symbol of local sweets, and there are few visitors who don't try it.

Solar do Alvarinho's primary objective is to increase the development and dynamism of the rural environment and its traditions, selling typical Melgaço products, such as smoked meat or Alvarinho. Exhibitions are held in this space, and there is also a bar and a shop.

This craft center promotes Melgaço's strong traditions in crafts. Linen weaving, wool weaving (blankets and rugs), agricultural implements and baskets are some of the items that form part of its collection.

Place where the famous Nisa Cheese is produced, made with sheep's milk, known for being artisanally cured, slightly buttery and acidic, and extremely tasty.
