The Cork Route takes you on a journey through the mysteries of the ancient relationship between humans and the cork oak. Through the suggested routes, you'll learn about the stories, techniques of preparing and transforming cork, a popular culture intrinsically linked to this region. Cork is the common thread in six areas of interest: heritage, nature, rural life, tradition, innovation, and knowledge. Each hub explores the cork cycle in its various aspects, from the cork oak forest to the factory, and explores beautiful landscapes. It is uniquely adapted for people with reduced mobility and the blind.

This mountain range is bordered to the north by the transition area to the Beja clay and pre-clay region, to the east by the Guadiana River, to the west by the Serra de Monchique, and to the south by the Barrocal Algarvio. It is therefore located in the central part of the Algarve, belonging to the Old Massif, in southern Portugal. The maximum altitude is 577 meters, reached at Pico do Mu, and its vegetation has characteristics typical of the Algarve region. It has very low population density, with a resident population of approximately 70,000.

Parque dos Poetas is a secluded and peaceful place, with trees and grassy areas. It offers beautiful views and is ideal for relaxing in peace and quiet.

A lookout point located at an altitude of 368 meters. This leisure area offers views of the mountains and the sea, in one of the most beautiful landscapes in the Algarve's interior.

The Castanhas Viewpoint is located at an altitude of 330 meters. From here, you can see the village and the sea. It's a perfect spot for leisure and relaxation.

Monumental portal with a triangular pediment, with an inscription from 1903. The Episcopal Palace was built between the 17th and 18th centuries for the bishops of the Algarve.

The museum is housed in a building representative of late 19th-century bourgeois architecture. The exhibits include a display of traditional Algarve costumes from the 19th and 20th centuries and a collection of popular religious sculptures. Around twenty antique Algarve vehicles are on display on the farm's premises. There is also an exhibition of harnesses and agricultural implements and an area dedicated to cork.

A Roman-medieval road, a testament to the earliest trade flows in the area. Currently, two sections of the road are uncovered: Section A, 100 meters long, and Section B, 550 meters long.

Here, at the Mesquita site, José Vicente de Brito, a São Paulo poet, was born and lived. In his memory, a verse of his was placed in Poço Velho. The site honors the poet, who died in 1957.

La iglesia tiene planta longitudinal, compuesta por tres naves y cinco tramos. En su interior destaca el baptisterio barroco del siglo XVIII, con un retablo de mármol, único ejemplar en el Algarve.
