Located in Quinta das Freiras, the Parque dos Monges (Monks' Park) comprises a range of facilities and activities designed to provide visitors with a unique experience recreating the way of life of the monks of the Cistercian Order. Covering an area of ​​24 hectares, it offers adventure and entertainment, as well as accommodation.

The former wine cellar (Adega do Olival Fechado, existing since the late 19th century), which in 1966 gave way to the museum. Here you can learn about the history of wine and appreciate the exhibition of agricultural implements, machines and objects related to winemaking. It has a collection of more than 10,000 movable pieces, of diverse typologies such as oenology, ethnology, traditional technology, industrial archaeology, graphic, plastic and decorative arts.

Founded in the 13th century by the abbot of Alcobaça, the Monastery of Santa Maria de Coz was one of the most important monastic complexes in the region and the most important monastery of the female branch of the Cistercian Order. The current building, of impressive simplicity, derives from works carried out mainly in the 17th century. The sober aspect of the exterior of the building contrasts with the Baroque interior. The church, about 50 meters long, reveals the grandeur of the old monastery and has coffered wooden ceilings, 17th-18th century tiles, and gilded altarpieces.

From this elevation, it is possible to see the entire bay of São Martinho do Porto, a geographical feature that, due to its perfect shell shape, is unique in the country and in Europe. It has three kilometers of sand and a 250-meter-wide inlet, between the Santana hills to the south and the Farol hill to the north.

Located in a bay, the waters are ideal for swimming at this popular tourist beach with a small sheltered harbor. From Facho hill, one can enjoy a unique view of the bay of São Martinho do Porto, which is bordered by the incredible dunes of Salir do Porto. This São Martinho cove is surprising for its unusual shape.

After more than a century of activity, the Raul da Bernarda company decided to open the museum's doors to the public in 2000, on its own initiative, making it possible, since then, to learn about the history of the oldest earthenware factory in Alcobaça. In addition to the "Raul da Bernarda Ceramics Collection," there is also the exhibition "The Costumes of the Rancho do Alcoa, alluding to Alcobaça pottery," which portrays the historical, ethnographic, and artistic memory of the city.

Built by Cistercian monks between 1178 and 1254, the Monastery consists of three sections: the Church and the North and South Wings, which respectively housed the apartments of the kings and visiting court, and the residences of the Abbot and the monks. The original façade retains the battlements on the side roof, the Gothic portal, and the large side windows. The Church is the largest in Portugal and contains the tombs of King Pedro I and Inês de Castro. Located on a rise of about 70 meters, west of the monastery, Alcobaça Castle was commissioned by King Afonso Henriques in 1147, on the presumed ruins of a 6th-century fortification. Destroyed several times during the Reconquista, King Sancho ordered its reconstruction to shelter the Alcobaça monks and the population in case of attack. After suffering several seismic shocks, it ended up serving as a prison during the reign of the Philips.

Anyone unfamiliar with the Aire and Candeeiros mountain ranges might think that their elevations of 577 and 613 meters respectively would be nothing extraordinary in terms of landscape. However, this massif, stretching between Ourém in the north and Rio Maior in the south, is a veritable kingdom of (limestone) stone. Besides the two mountain ranges that give it its name, it includes the Serra de Mendiga, the Santo António Plateau, and part of the São Mamede Plateau. Also, noteworthy is the Dinosaur Footprints Natural Monument.
