You can visit the famous Castle of Almourol, one of the best-known Portuguese monuments, making the crossing in recreational boat from City Hall, with a capacity of 50 people.

The museum of the Fundação Engenheiro António de Almeida gathers a series of works collected by the founder. Among them it stands out the collection of golden coins from different places.

Inside, there are several monumental doors that make communication between the different parts of the Castle. The access is made by river in a small boat crossing, lasting about five minutes.

This is a Renaissance temple founded by Dom Pedro de Menezes in 1528. It possesses a singular façade where the pediment symmetrically droops until the pillars opening in two arches. It is worthy to mention the stone work, the roof on the main chapel in stared vault, the glazed tiles from the beginning of the 17th century, the pulpit and the wooden balcony.

Former enclosed field of a farm with a convent that the earthquake destroyed. Nowadays it is a set of gardens and preserve, rich in exotic vegetation. The Casa do Regalo with the lakes, greenhouses, Virtues statue and the bust of Dom João V stands out. Integrated in this area is the Palácio das Necessidades, classified as Public Interest Monument and where the Foreign Office is set.

Built for the Great Exhibition of the Portuguese World, in 1940, is has large lawns. The monuments paying homage to Gago Coutibho and Sacadura Cabral stand out. It is a great leisure area, ideal for walks, bicycle or skate rides.

Opened in 1825, it was oredered by the Marquês de Tomar. In the XIX century it was called the Passeio da Estrela. The vegetation is secular with about 800 arboreous species and large variety of flowers. It is a garden of romantic conception and a has a bandstand, an esplanade, a library, a greenhouse, artificial grottos, lakes and picnic area, being one of the most pleasant spaces in the city.
