This is a pillory made in white marble from Estremoz, formed by a first order from the shaft, an octagonal prism settled above two steps. The second order from the shaft has two metres high and it is octagonal and is settled above a ring and a prismatic abutment.

Dedicated to Saint Salvador, the parish church of Santa Cruz resulted from the recovery of the Capela das Almas, from the 17th century, which had already been based on another construction from the beginning of the 16th century, following the 1748 earthquake. It presents influences from the mendicant Gothic and, inside, the baroque and neoclassical gilded altarpieces and traces of paintings on the pillars stand out.
