A museum located in the Solar da Ponte (Bridge Manor), an 18th century building, that exhibits vestiges of the "castreja" culture (of the Iberians and the Celts), a culture that only eexisted in the northwest of the peninsula. It used to be the house of the family of Francisco Morais Sarmento and now belongs to the Martins Sarmento Society.

Fortress built in the XVII century to protect the city against pirates’ attacks, being enlarged in the XVIII century. It was used with military ends until 1992, year in which it was given to the Regional Government, which turned it into a cultural space, so that now is the Contemporary Art Museum.

The church was founded in 1719 and built, as it is now, in 1753 by Inácio de Oliveira Bernardes. The façade is ended with two strong towers. The inside, lined with rich materials, has the tomb of the queen Dona Mariana Vitória, sculpted by Machado de Castro, classified as National monument.

A very rocky beach separated by a small inlet that can be crossed on foot at low tide. The existing restaurants serve typical dishes at high prices. It used to be the private property of the Counts of Castro Guimarães, whose palace now functions as a museum, with direct access to the sand.

The views it offers over the historic area of Castelo Branco and the region greatly reward the effort required to reach it. It is located close to the Castle and opened in 1941, built to “hide” the water supply tanks and later reclassified during the Polis program. The garden benches and shadows invite you to take a well-deserved rest, while contemplating the panoramic view that goes from Serra da Estrela to the border.

Route which begins down a path that goes up to the whale Lookout from where you can enjoy a privileged view over the canal and the island of São Jorge. Then go down to the Bay of Gasparal, which was used for many years as boarding zone for kites of verdelho wine to export. From this point the route always follows in the coastal area to the Lajido.

Placed in the picturesque parish of Monte, the Inn is only a few minutes away from the place where the basket cars going down takes place. It has 42 rooms, all with private balcony and views of the lovely gardens around it. The restaurant offers traditional dishes and the chapel is dated from 1936, built in homage to Nossa Senhora da Conceição.

Sanctuary in honor of Saint Benedict, from where you can enjoy beautiful panoramic views of the entire Serra do Gerês mountain range. The chancel and altar are dedicated to this saint, a cult that dates back to the mid-18th century. The sanctuary hosts the main pilgrimage from August 10 to 15, and other festivities on March 21 and July 11.

Manueline, Mannerist and Baroque Temple. Stands out the Mannerist portal adorned with filacteras and Windings. In this space is installed the Museum of sacred art. Taking advantage of the body of the Church, the sacristy and two annexes of the late 19th century. XX, boasts an important collection of imaginary and a liturgical set of 15th-18TH CENTURY, from different churches in the municipality of Mértola. Although transformed into museum space remains linked to the cult.

This church, with its 16th-century features, has a segmental arched porch at the entrance supported by two columns. Inside, the remarkable vaulted ceiling of the nave, with its crossed ribs, and the 18th-century tile panels that adorn two of the side chapels stand out. From the original 11th-century monastery, a magnificent Romanesque portal with two archivolts remains, resting on four small columns with historiated capitals.
